ArchitectureStrategies is an active research practice for spatial and social strategies design and art, generating multifaceted projects of social ecology and spatial politics. Principal is Dr. Lina Stergiou.

Dr. Stergiou is a spatial and cultural practitioner, researcher, writer and curator,  architect-engineer licensed in EU,  Honorary Professor of the University of Liverpool (UoL), exploring in multiple formats spatial politics and the avant-garde, which she actively practices as curatorial and design strategies, and explores through talks, conferences, symposia, and essays in books. An Associate Professor, most recently at the Department of Architecture Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University, including before the School of Architecture, National Technical University of Athens, and the Department of Architecture, University of Thessaly, Stergiou is the recipient of numerous research grants and prizes, including the Princeton University Stanley J. Seeger Research Fellowship, the XJTLU Research Development Fund and Research Conference Fund, and two research prizes by the European Union and the Hellenic Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Climate Change. Her teaching received numerous recognitions and the HEA Learning and Teaching in Higher Education with Distinction. Her research project AAO: Ethics/Aesthetic has been the recipient of sixteen subsidies and sponsorship funds, and implemented as two-year series of international conferences, exhibitions, academic workshops, collective experiments and public actions in collaboration with Benaki Museum Athens, Université de Paris 8, Athens School of Fine Arts, National Technical University of Athens, Parsons The New School For Design, and international artists, designers, architects, intellectuals, scholars, academics and activists. Stergiou is the editor of Against All Odds project: Ethics/Aesthetics (Athens: Benaki Museum and Papasotiriou, 2011), and of Revelation (Athens: Cultural Olympiad 2001-2004, 2003).

Her spatial strategies and design are the recipient of prizes such as the Golden and Silver Novum Design Award 2019, Paris, the Special Diploma Leonardo 2009, and the Mention with Diploma of the Union of Architects of Russia, including distinctions in international design competitions such as the Honorable Mention for redefining  urban waterfront of Busan, Korea, awarded by the Municipality of Busan. She has published in architectural journals, webmagazines and books of Amsterdam, New York, Athens, Milano, Seoul, Madrid, and Paris (Architecture d’Aujourd’hui, Space, Metalocus), and exhibited in many shows in New York, Paris, Athens, Belarus, Madrid, Busan, and London (Paris Pavillon de l’Arsenal, RIBA gallery, 3rd Minsk International Biennale). Stergiou has delivered numerous public lectures (Université Laval, CityU Hong Kong, American University of Beirut, Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia, Yeunjin University Busan, Universidade Estadual de Londrina Brazil), has been an Independent Expert, Board of Nominators, Mies van der Rohe Award-European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture, 2013-2019, a reviewer of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture/ACSA, 2019, and a reviewing expert of the Swiss National Science Foundation/SNSF, 2020.

Stergiou holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture, Art, Cultural Theories and Studies from the Kingston School of Art, School of Critical Studies and Creative Industries, a Post-Professional Master of Architecture from Pratt Institute, Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Design GAUD, and a Professional Master of Science in Architecture (Dipl.-Ing. Architect) from the National Technical University of Athens NTUA,  School of Architecture, receiving scholarships from Kingston University London, Pratt Institute, and the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation.
